Subject: Friendship 5 Oct Meeting - Leadership By Example

Dear Friends,

We have just had a fun, fantastic & fabulous meeting two days ago. A number of us dressed up in green, adding to the festive Raya atmosphere.

In addition to the interesting I resolved to ... table topics questions and answers, we had 3 excellent, entertaining speeches by Emily, Lay Theng and Kwok Hung. It was a tough decision for us to decide who was the Best Project Speaker. Bravo to our 3 fabulous speakers !

I am looking forward to another fabulous meeting. This mail is sent out earlier than usual so that we can prepare for our roles in advance, as we have just learnt that Good Plans Shape Good Decisions.

For October 5, our theme shall be Leadership By Example. Are you a leader whom others seek to emulate ? Do you wish to be an exemplary (Word of the Day) leader that others look upon with admiration ? Never fear, Friendship is just the place for you to practice on your leadership skills as you perform your meeting roles. A well-prepared Toastmaster with the good intention of doing his/her best in each meeting, in my opinion, is on the way to being an exemplary leader.

What's In It For You in this Leadership By Example meeting?
  • First-timer TME Alex, who is diligently working on her CL manual. We wish her all the best in her maiden role as TME
  • 6 project speakers who have requested for speaking slots. Evidently we have many leaders who wish to improve on their communication skills!
  • Meeting roles available for you to select your preferred role to polish your leadership skill e.g. evaluate to motivate or inspire the audience to participate in the Table Topics session
  • Our newest member, Andy, who is taking up the Ah-Counter role for the second time in a row, as he wishes to do a better job as an Ah-Counter
  • A dedicated GE who is always doing evaluation even though he is not your assigned evaluator. Do not be surprise if he walks up to you and provide his evaluation on your meeting role/project speech during the break or at the end of the meeting. He is always willing to share his Toastmasters knowledge, you just to ask and thou shall receive (his words of acquired knowledge and wisdom). Do not be misled by his youthful looks
  • An announcement by our equally youthful looking VPPR

Do have a look at our program agenda for Oct 5. Everyone is welcome to join in. As the saying goes - The more the merrier. We certainly want to be merry and to have another entertaining, learning experience.

Hope to meet up with everyone again on Oct 5 !

Best regards,
Angeline, VPE
