Friendship's Youth Leadership Program (YLP)

Speaking Prodigy indeed! Grace Tan, who was Friendship's Toastmaster-of-the Year in 2009, was interviewed for an article pertaining to Public Speaking that appeared in the New Straits Time, 21 February 2013.

Our Amazing Grace espouses the importance of having a good command of the English language in delivering one's speeches smoothly. She also mentions that having abundant energy will make it a dynamic speech that will keep the audience glued to their seats and focusing on your every word. A great opening will make the audience want to hear more while a great conclusion leaves them remembering your speech for a long time to come. Lastly, she stresses that delivering your speech with enthusiasm and passion is the right way to go when entertaining the crowd - Even if they might forget the contents of the speech with time, they surely will remember the speaker for a long, long time to come!

These are some great tips and strategies that will be covered in our Youth Leadership Program. Everything that Grace has mentioned in the article are the very tools the young men and women of today will need to hone to become the leaders of tomorrow. And Friendship Toastmasters Club will provide the right environment to give the young attendees a heads-up in the wide world of public speaking and communication. Being able to communicate is one of the key secrets to success in every aspect of our lives - the best time to improve one's communication skills is always right now. Why wait for tomorrow for something you can do today?
