Subject: FTMC Meeting on 15 June 2010 - Program Update
Dear members,
In 4 days time, we will be having our regular meeting with the theme "GOING FORWARD". The theme has been selected as this will be the last meeting organized by the current EXCO of Friendship. June also marks the end of Toastmasters session for 2009/2010. The new session will start in July 2010 to June 2009 for all clubs worldwide.
Having been in the corporate world, I hear the term going forward used oftentimes. Some examples are "We have a very solid financial position going forward". "What's the outlook for the economy going forward?", "The strategy going forward is still undecided" etc, etc.
As a Toastmaster, we also need to ask ourselves similar questions. "What's our educational award that we want to achieve, going forward?" Its not just achieving awards, but it is also about asking our self, "Going forward, are we going to apply what we learned in our prepared speeches?" Going forward, are we going to apply what we learned in our role plays? It is about PROGRESS , the WOD.
