Subject: FTMC - Greetings from the President

28th October 2009

Dear Members,

It has been a while since I managed to sit down at my desk to write a message to you all. Time has been streaming past us with great haste. Little did we know that it has been 4 months since we took office at FTMC.

I am happy to say that over this period of time, I have been able to witness the change and development of some of our members and I am proud to say that we are indeed one of the better clubs in the Klang Valley. The exco team has work diligently and relentlessly over the last few months and we are beginning to see results.

Our meetings are getting better, and our speakers certainly command respect. Should we keep up the pace, I believe we should be achieving our 10 DCP goals in no time.

At the last meeting on 20th October, our guest speaker, Lee Wei Seong, ACG, CL, delivered the successful club series program under the “Mentoring” Theme. After spending some time thinking over it, I would like very much to implement this. I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that if you are having trouble trying to get started or go back to doing your project speeches, kindly contact myself, Zaiton or Angeline and we will try to work something out for you. The club is here to assist you all the way. Together friends helping friends succeed.

Have a great week ahead and see you all on 3rd November 2009.

Past President James Arokiasamy is the Toastmaster of the Meeting. He is also known as "blood sucker" being the CEO of a laboratory that tests blood. He conducts the meeting with great gusto and speaks like a seasoned politician. Guess who he looks like with his new looks?

Ho Fong Ming, DTM, Past District 51 Governor, is the General Evaluator. This eloquent lady with the charming smile and warm personality conducts the evaluation session with flair and dignity. Her comments are like precious gems that will help the club to sparkle and glitter with greater intensity.

Koh Teck Lee, ATMB, ALS, from Speakers Dream Toastmasters Club is one of the evaluators. He is a Past Area Governor of District 51. He admits he is no comedian, nevertheless, he shares his candid opinions on entertaining speeches. His evaluation serves to spur the speaker into a more polished entertaining speaker.

Mok Soo Pon, ATMB, CL, from Speakers Dream Toastmasters Club is one of the evaluators. This attractive lady whose name makes you believe that she is Thai has a powerful and resonant voice. She gives a sincere evaluation that serves to boost the performance of the speaker.

Tom Chen, ACG, CL, is the Table Topics Evaluator. This gentleman hails from USA and is a global banker cum corporate coach. He evaluates the speakers with a great sense of humour. His sharp observation and thoughtful comments will certainly enhance the speakers' impromptu speaking skills.

Priyanka Puri is the Best Table Topics Speaker. She wins a ticket to The Better Speaker Series on 14 Nov 2009 at ING Centre. President Ben Fong sponsors the ticket.

Grace Tan is the Best Project Speaker. She wins a ticket to The Better Speaker Series on 14 Nov at ING Centre. President Ben Fong sponsors the ticket.

Past President Kim Chow is the Best Speech Evaluator. She wins a ticket to The Better Speaker Series on 14 Nov 2009 at ING Centre. President Ben Fong sponsors the ticket.
